Peer Review Process and Policy

All manuscripts must be submitted online through the InterPore Journal website. Upon submission, each manuscript is assigned a unique manuscript number. Authors should use this number in all communications with the Editorial Office or contact us directly through the author center using the relevant manuscript entry.

The standard review model for the journal is single-anonymized peer review. However, authors may request either double-anonymized or open peer review if preferred. This preference should be indicated at the time of initial submission; if it is unclear, the Managing Editor will follow up with the submitting author for clarification.

In a single-anonymized review, the reviewers know the names and affiliations of the authors, while the reviewers’ identities remain concealed.
In a double-anonymized review, both the authors’ and reviewers’ identities and affiliations are kept confidential.
In an open review, the identities and affiliations of both authors and reviewers are visible to each other.

After submission, all manuscripts are first checked by the Managing Editor for completeness and screened for plagiarism using Crossref Similarity Check. They are then assigned to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC), who conducts an initial assessment of the manuscript’s suitability for the journal. At this stage, manuscripts may be rejected if they fall outside the journal’s scope or if the quality is deemed insufficient.

If no concerns arise, the manuscript is assigned to an Editor with relevant expertise, who will oversee the full peer review process. Manuscripts are typically sent to two external reviewers who are experts in the field; additional reviews may be sought when necessary. The Editor will also consider any stated conflicts of interest when selecting reviewers, and may take into account reviewer suggestions provided by the submitting author.

Once all reviews have been completed, the assigned Editor will evaluate the reviewers’ reports and make a recommendation (Reject, Major Revision, Minor Revision, or Accept) to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC). The EIC will then review all materials and issue the final decision to the authors.

Please note that for the following article types, peer review may be conducted at the Editors’ discretion: Commentaries on Previously Published Articles, Invited Commentaries, Letters to the Editor, and Short Communications.
