Duties and Responsibilities of the Authors
Authors submitting to the InterPore Journal are expected to follow high ethical and professional standards in conducting and reporting research. Manuscripts should present an accurate and unbiased account of the work and its significance, with sufficient detail and appropriate references to allow others to evaluate or reproduce the results. Data and findings must be reported faithfully; knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical conduct.
Authors should be prepared to provide access to research data during editorial review and, where reasonable, after publication when it is not otherwise publicly available. Relevant data should be retained for an appropriate period following publication. Further details are provided in the journal’s data-sharing policy: https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/DCsharing
Submitted work must be original and accurately reflect the authors’ own research. When drawing upon prior ideas or results, authors must give proper credit through citations or quotations, and privately obtained information (for example, through discussions or correspondence) may not be used without explicit written permission. Manuscripts should include enough information, data, and methodological detail to support reproducibility.
Authors should submit work that is not under review elsewhere and should not send substantially similar research to more than one journal. Prior dissemination—for example, a thesis, conference presentation, abstract, or non-peer-reviewed preprint—may be acceptable if it is clearly disclosed at submission. Authors must also respect the confidentiality of materials encountered through peer review or grant evaluation and may not use such information in their own manuscripts without explicit permission.
Authors should cite literature that is directly relevant and reliable. It is their responsibility to ensure that referenced works come from reputable scholarly sources, particularly given the rise of predatory and misleading journals. Using trustworthy citations supports the rigor of the scientific record. Practices such as unnecessary self-citation, citation padding, or including references that do not contribute meaningfully to the work should be avoided. Editors and reviewers may suggest additional sources, but authors should include such suggestions only when scientifically appropriate.
Authors should follow the journal’s guidance on authorship and contributorship found at https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/Authorship. The corresponding author must ensure that all listed authors have contributed appropriately, approved the final manuscript, and agreed to its submission. Author lists should be established carefully before submission; any post-submission changes must follow the procedures outlined here: https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/Changes-Authorship
All authors share responsibility for the content of the manuscript and should be prepared to help address any concerns related to the accuracy or integrity of the work.
Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could reasonably be seen as influencing the research. All funding sources and any involvement of sponsors in the research or manuscript preparation must be reported; if sponsors had no role, this should be stated. Further guidance is available in the conflicts of interest policy: https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/Conflicts-Interest.
Any use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in writing, figures, or artwork must be disclosed and must comply with the journal’s AI policy: https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/AI_Policy.
Manuscripts involving human subjects, vulnerable populations, or personal data must include statements of ethical approval, informed consent, and compliance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines. Authors should follow the journal’s policies on informed consent: https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/Informed-Consent, vulnerable populations: https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/Vulnerable-Populations, and any other applicable guidance. Research involving animals must meet established standards for humane care; see https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/Animal-Research. Work involving palaeontological, geological, or geomaterials research should follow the journal’s guidance at https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/Research-PalGeoMat
Images should not be manipulated in ways that change the underlying data or their interpretation. Adjustments to brightness, contrast, or color balance are acceptable only when they do not conceal or misrepresent information.
If authors discover a significant error in their published work, they must promptly notify the journal and cooperate in issuing a correction or retraction when appropriate. Details are available here: https://ipjournal.interpore.org/index.php/interpore/Errata.
